VIDEO FACADE PROJECTIONS
Federal Chancellery, Berlin, 2001
Das Fest am Bundeskanzleramt
was a night time open air public event, a part of Doors Open Day
at the German Chancellery.
To accompany the line up of big German bands and popular opera numbers,
our briefing was to animate the building itself with video projections.
Tasks included the art direction, production and coordination of the
video projections for the duration of the show, and the involvement
of other video artists.
We produced videos about the building itself - animated architectural
drawings, and a fast motion guided tour through the chancellery with
a fish eye lens, making reference to it's nickname the "washing machine".
Other videos used images of women from international bank notes: the
muses of money. The intention being to christen the Chancellery with
influences of wealth, the results of which have yet to be seen.
