Hamburger Abendblatt Neujahrsfest

The annual New Year's Party of Hamburg's leading Newspaper, the Hamburger Abendblatt, was hosted this year in a very adventurous location - the building site of the Elbphilharmonie, overlooking Hamburg's port, designed by Herzog and de Meuron "One of the most gorgeous buildings under construction." Guests arrived at the main hall by way of a double helix spiral ramp, which will in future form the car access to the parking lot. Visitors were enthralled by this Guggenheim-like space, brought to life by an extensive video installation featuring custom made animations with inspirational messages for the New Year, to the sound of live music from a centrally placed grand piano.
