AIDS 2002 was a week-long series of events, discussions and screenings at
the Hallisches Ufer Theater addressing issues surrounding public awareness
of AIDS and AIDS in art. The briefing for this project was to draw attention
to the building and the AIDS 2002 week, particularly to heighten its visibility
from the U-bahn train which passes on a raised bridge directly in front
of the theater.
The solution was two-fold: the upper windows of the theater were used as
a screen for back-projected slides during the night; and a gigantic AIDS
ribbon was pinned to the front of the building for daytime visibility. |
